Neely’s Bend 5k Raises Funds

Started by Madison Academy, the Neely’s Bend 5k race is in its sixth year. On April 22, starting at 1:30 pm, they will host the run at the beautiful Peeler Park in Madison, TN. This year Madison Academy is working with the 100 Club of Nashville to bring awareness and support for the emergency service personnel of the Metro Nashville area.

Any proceeds from the run will go to the 100 Club of Nashville. The nonprofit charity was founded in 1979 by business people in the greater Nashville area in order to provide financial assistance to the families of emergency personnel who lose their lives or are victim of serious, traumatic and disabling injury in the line of duty.

In addition, it will benefit the Madison Academy Work Study Program Madison Academy. The work study focuses on making Christian Seventh-day Adventist education affordable and provides scholarship funds to young people who show promise and potential.

If you’re looking for a good opportunity to get a good run in or to practice before a bigger event, this is a good chance. So, grab your friends, lace up those running shoes, start training, and sign-up for this fun race.

The standard 5k costs $35 per entry, while the children’s 1 mile fun run is $20 per a child. There is also a Family 5k which includes a family of four, whatever that may look like for you. For more information on this option, call 615-865-4055.
