Dr. Brandon Downs is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Brandon Downs comes from a medical family and is a Nashville native. Both Dr. Downs’ father and brother have practiced medicine in the Nashville community.
Dr. Downs attended college at Belmont University. Dr. Downs attended Belmont as a Presidential Scholar. The Belmont University Presidential scholarship is a full 4 year scholarship. Dr. Downs graduated from Belmont University as Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Downs then attended medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. During medical school, Dr. Downs was a Student Researcher and a Clinical Researcher in the Department of Orthopaedics Tribology research laboratory. Drew Cressman is a licensed and certified Physician’s Assistant in the state of Tennessee. He is has been working with Dr. Downs since 2016. Drew plays a vital roll as Dr. Downs’ physician assistant and first surgical assistant in the operating room. Dr. Colbert was born and raised in Port St. Joe, Florida before moving to Nashville to attend Belmont University. While at Belmont he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. After graduating with his undergraduate degree in 1998, Josh enrolled in the physical therapy program at Belmont where he graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2001. Jessica Uvarov PA-C
Jessica Uvarov is a licensed and certified Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Science at Colorado State University where she graduated with cum laude honors. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Colorado Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant program. This unique, 3-year program gave Jessica expanded training in pediatrics and additional surgical experience.
Jessica started working with Orthopaedic Specialists in 2018. She operates with Dr. Downs as a first surgical assistant in addition to caring for patients in the clinic and several hospitals around Nashville, Dickson, and Ashland City. Jessica speaks Russian fluently; and is also an active member of the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Micah Allison – PT
Dr. Micah Allison is a licensed physical therapist in Tennessee with additional certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and emergency medical responder (EMR). Micah received his Bachelor of Science from The University of Tennessee and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University. He is a Nashville native and has a passion for treating orthopaedic /sport related injuries and maximizing performance in athletes of all levels. His clinical philosophy is based on integrating strength and conditioning, manual hands on techniques, and neurological principles for a more integrative approach towards patient care. In his spare time, he enjoys weight-lifting, reading, music and spending time in the outdoors.
Emily Burn PT
Dr. Emily Burn is a licensed physical therapist and graduate of Belmont University School of Physical Therapy where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has nearly a decade of experience working with patients in the outpatient setting. She is a Nashville native and enjoys working with patients from all backgrounds and ability levels to achieve each person’s individual goals for return to function. In her spare time she participates in yoga classes, joins in on runs with a community running club, and makes use of the many green ways around Nashville with her family and dogs.
