Dr. Brandon Downs has been bringing the highest-quality sports medicine orthopaedic care to the Nashville, Tennessee area for 14 years. As one of Nashville’s most respected orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Downs greatly enjoys providing excellent non-operative and operative orthopaedic care to his patients. His passion is restoring comfort and function to his patients through unsurpassed orthopaedic care. Dr. Downs enjoys bringing state of the art care to his patients including such surgeries as the latest arthroscopic surgical treatment of shoulder and knee injuries. Dr. Downs also provides computer-assisted minimally invasive joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee. Dr. Downs provided the first computer-navigated total shoulder replacement in the state.
Dr. Downs is a Nashville native and attended Belmont University on the Dan and Margaret Maddox full Presidential Scholarship. After completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the prestigious Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Downs completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland Clinic is consistently rated in the top 3 of all orthopaedic hospitals in the nation.
Dr. Downs has extensive experience caring for athletes and patients of all ages. Dr. Downs is published extensively in the medical literature, authoring many peer-reviewed articles in orthopaedic journals and othopaedic textbooks.
Dr. Downs is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He additionally holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Downs serves as head team physician for multiple teams in the Nashville area.
